About
Contractor Website Design Built for Real Results
I'm Jacob Althen. I build SEO-driven websites for home service contractors in North Carolina who are ready to stop relying on lead boards and start ranking where their customers search.
Who I work with
Why Contractors?
I focus on HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical, land management, and other home service trades because that's where I can add the most value—and where a well-built site makes the biggest difference.
Contractors need sites that rank for "AC repair near me," "plumber in [city]," and "roofer near me"—not generic brochure copy.
Home service is high-ticket and trust-driven. Homeowners need to see clear services, credentials, and a path to call before they pick up the phone.
I've seen too many contractors stuck with a site that looks fine but doesn't show up in search or turn traffic into jobs. I build to fix that.
Whether you're a one-truck operation or a growing team, I build sites that help you compete locally. See my services by trade or check out the portfolio.
Where I focus
Why North Carolina?
I'm based in North Carolina and work with contractors across the state—especially the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point), the Triangle, and surrounding areas. Local search works best when the person building your site understands your market: how homeowners search here, which cities and counties matter for your service area, and what your competitors are doing online.
Focusing on one region means I can keep up with what's working in NC local SEO and apply it directly to your project. You're not getting a template built for "anywhere"—you're getting a site structured for the places you actually serve.
How I think about it
Results Over Pretty Design
A beautiful site that doesn't rank or convert is a waste of money. I care about how your site looks—clean, professional, and on-brand—but I care more about whether it shows up when homeowners search and whether it gets them to call you.
That means every decision is driven by local search intent, speed, and conversion: the right service pages, the right city/area coverage, clear calls to action, and a structure that search engines can crawl and trust. Pretty is part of the package; results are the goal.
You don't need a brochure. You need a site that ranks, loads fast, and turns visitors into calls—so you spend less on lead boards and more on running your business.
How we work
My Process
Straightforward and focused on getting you live with a site that's built to perform—not endless revisions or scope creep.
Audit & strategy
We start with a free audit of your current site (or your goals if you don't have one). I look at what's working, what's not, and how a new or improved site can target the searches that actually bring in work.
Structure & content
I map out service pages, city/area pages, and internal linking so the site is built for local search from day one. Content is written around real keywords and call intent—not filler.
Build & launch
The site is built for speed and mobile, with clear CTAs, schema markup, and a foundation that works with Google Business Profile. We launch, then monitor and refine so you start ranking and getting calls.
Ongoing (optional)
After launch, we can set up ongoing SEO support: new pages, content updates, and technical tweaks so your site keeps competing as your market changes.
Where I'm based
North Carolina — Here for Local Trust
I work with contractors across North Carolina and am based in the state. For local service businesses, it matters that you're working with someone who gets your market—not a faceless agency or a generic offshore team. You get a direct relationship, clear communication, and a site built for the areas you actually serve.
If you're in the Piedmont Triad, the Triangle, or anywhere else in NC and you're ready to take your online presence seriously, I'd rather work with fewer clients and do the job right. That means your project gets the attention it deserves and you end up with a site that's built to last and built to rank.
Serving: Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding North Carolina communities.
